Drawing on her background in theatre and a deep love for creating a transformative sense of space, Ariela’s annual immersive home-haunt installation and community staple, Little House of Horrors, which debuted in 2022, blends artistry, atmosphere, and a deep reverence for the season's macabre and magical spirit. Her Halloween art and installation were featured on the cover of Living Kingston magazine for their October 2026 issue.
Deeply immersed in the world of horror, she is drawn to the genre for its ability to explore the unknown, the unseen, and the liminal spaces that explore what lurks beyond the veil.
When she isn't building larger-than-life creatures or staging a haunted forest, she sizes down her work, sculpting the uncanny using paper mache to build out the worlds and emotions that live beyond the veil. In additional to her sculptural work, Ariela’s ongoing series, Energy, Everywhere, is built around a signature design motif she’s drawn since childhood, exploring where creative expression meets the ebb and flow of the natural world. In 2025, she was selected as a participating artist for Free to Thrift in Kingston, NY, where she painted a mural version titled Energy, Everywhere: Pillar of Breath. In 2023, several of her pieces from this collection were featured at a group show titled “From the Dirt”, exploring the themes of spring and the darkness that it emerges from, at Holding Space in Kingston, NY.
Her studio practice is rooted in daily ritual, anchored by over twenty years of continuous journaling and her Sketchbook Series - a daily drawing practice that captures moments and emotions from her day-to-day life, ranging from joy and wonder to anger and grief.
Beyond her studio practice, Ariela is the founder of Commune to Create, a seasonal membership designed to guide artists through their own creative cycles in alignment with those of the earth, and foster self-trust. She also created Bad Art Parties, an initiative celebrating process over product. Her writing on creative living in alignment with lunar cycles was published in Taproot Magazine Issue 55a: Lunar, and she is the author of the children’s book The Gray Days.
